Tips for Protecting Folders in XP with Password

For those of you who share a computer with others, need extra security to your folders possible? Well, if you have a password to log into Windows XP, this can be used to protect your personal folders can not be accessed for other users. Make sure your hard disk formatted using NTFS.

All you have to do is click the right mouse button on the folder you want protected with a password, and select Properties (you can also do it by wearing pressing Alt key while double clicking the left mouse button).

Click the Sharing tab and check the box marked "Make this folder private". Then click the Apply button.

If you do not have the password for the account, it will display a dialog box asking if you'll create a password. Click the Yes button. Type in a word unique and memorable. Use a combination of letters and numbers for people not easily predictable. Finally click the OK button to exit the Properties dialog city.

From now on, every person who logs on to a computer you can not access files on your personal folder if you do not know the password.
